The Unicorn - my weekly poetry circle
The unicorn is my most cherished creation, it’s more than a poetry circle, it's a sanctuary for the soul. Every week at Mundolingua, the museum of languages, nested in the cultural heart of Paris, we gather to celebrate the magic of words and the vulnerability they unveil.
The unicorn, to me, symbolizes more than mythical grace; it embodies the gentleness, the enchantment, and the vulnerability that poetry is capable of revealing. This circle is not just an event; it's an intentional exploration of our shared humanity.
Poetry, the common language of the heart, becomes the bridge that connects us all. Regardless of our origins, we unite in the acknowledgment that we feel deeply. The Unicorn, embraces the beauty of diversity by welcoming any language in the world. It's a space where words transcend barriers, allowing us to share our innermost thoughts in the language that resonates with our souls.
The conception of The Unicorn was born from a personal need to hear my own voice in my mother tongue (Spanish) and a desire to connect with kindred spirits. Poetry, is the tool I use to feel valid and fully present. What began as an intimate gathering with friends has blossomed into a flourishing community that continues to expand.
The choice of Mundolingua as our home was deliberate. Rooted in the ideals of passion, preservation, and understanding of the importance of languages, it perfectly embodies the essence of the safe space we've cultivated. This union, is dedicated to preserving an environment where self-expression knows no bounds.
The Unicorn is an open invitation to anyone residing in Paris—a weekly rendezvous every Wednesday, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
